We get there and Kiyoshi says “But where are the Timbits?” We told him you, you are the Timbit!
After many skating classes Kiyoshi finally got to take a stick on the ice with him! A little wobbly at first, it’s a lot more gear than he’s used to! Wasn’t long before he was feeling right at home and sitting on the big foam divider blocks.
He’s still torn between lefty and righty, at first I sent him out with a righty and he held it lefty so I had to give him the lefty when he came for his water break … and I forgot to bring his water to the bench … but at least he had the right left stick now.
I was so pleased to see when we went for sign in and jersey pick up that he was handed an old school Canucks jersey with the disco stripe. Tara is holding out hope that when they split into teams that he will get a different jersey …
So there are many weekends ahead of us with early mornings like 6:00 AM in Carstairs or Chestermere or Okotoks because ice times are so hard to come by in Calgary. Fun times ahead!
