Today was the bicentennial anniversary of the Braemar Gathering. (200th anniversary. Yes I had to look that up). We knew she would be here but didn’t know when.
As luck would have it, we were wandering into town when she drove in on her way as the “Patron” of the games, with her modern day horse and carriage entourage made up of Land Rovers and Mercedes.
And as the sun would shine luck upon us again, she drove by once more as we were standing by the gates on the way out ourselves.
Amazing for Kiyoshi for him to have Her Majesty give him a wave.
In “Brave” Merida’s family held a Highland games of their own so Kiyoshi got to see some tug of war and caber tossing up close. And a lot of men in kilts.
Tomorrow we are off to Stonehaven.
